Great. we were getting along great till I disagreed with her. She had the bright idea to go next door and buy the neighbors 1991 Lincoln Continental. The rear end is almost dragging the ground. They did offer to sell it to us the other day for $200. Now it is a different story.
Seems we have a 1971 17ft camper we bought for $875 in 1998. It sleeps 6 , has a kitchen, and full bathroom. We have done nothing to it but remove the refrigetor & heater that never worked. The roof is leaking some. It needs to be cool sealed & painted inside. Not a big problem. We found out that the previous owners had used garden hose to plumb the kitchen. We told the new neighbors ever thing. Why should we give it away? We had said $500 now she is saying it is not worth that much. I think that is too low.
They want to swap for the camper & us to pay them more money too. HMMM hair on the back of my neck is standing up. We are using the camper for storage at the present time.
Oh ,I can rent their car for 3 days for $50. I agreed with that. They will be over in a few hours to discuss these arrangements.
I tried to explain to my A who is lucid today that I have $375 now. I will have another $234 this evening. She is getting $150 instead of the $200 for housesitting earlier this month. I need $200 to fix my truck which she believes to be a waste since it has not run in 3 years. I need another $100 for insurance, tax & title. I will need $50 to get to Atlanta airport. I was hoping to have some spending money for my trip.The carborator will cost around $140 to rebuild. She is smart & can do the math better than me.
I am being told the camper will leave this yard. She is having a fit because the bill of sale on the camper is not in the fire safe. It is a bill of sale it does not need a title. sheesh. She is throwing papers on the floor in a mad search for the bill of sale. This is pushing buttons on me. I can not handle when someone slams doors, throws stuff around. I am nervous as a long tail cat in a room full of rockers.
I asked her if I have planned on leaving her stranded while I was gone why on earth did I do it a week before I was to leave? She says I can't read your mind.
Now her mood is completely switched, never had a problem at all. GRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Let her have her fit, you don't need to go there with her. Even when they are not drinking, trying to reason with them is almost impossible. My "A" has done some pretty surprising things when he is trying to make a deal. I just hand it over to HP.
Take it easy, you will be on vacation soon.

ok the deal the neighbors offered was swap for the camper & pay them $100. they were offered $600 but the person never came back.
The roof in the camper needs the balsam wood replaced. It has some water damage. The tires need to be swapped over. We have them the ones on the camper are dry rotted.
My A finally suggests I get a ride to work from them & decide tommorrow. I have to give them $10 in gas for a ride to and from. I think so far. I don't know I have a headache and a stomach ache I am due at work at 8pm. It is 5:30pm now.
Wait a minute - you were asking $500 for the camper, and the car was selling for $200 a few days ago. Now they want the camper AND $100? I'd like these people to come and negotiate my next mortgage for me!
You don't have to go through with a deal that you don't think is in your best interest, no matter what the A may have arranged. I would take as long as you can spare to think about it, and don't be bullied (OK, persuaded) into doing something that is not best for you.
I know you have some time constraints... but there is always the option of, "at this moment, do NOTHING"....
It will likely drive the wife crazy.... (I am a recovering alcoholic too, I know....LOL)... but it would maybe get the neighbors to feel desparate enough to be sensible. If they think you will fold... or do anything for transportation right now, they will stop at nothing to take take take... sounds like the kind of people they are!!
