One of my son's gave me a patio swing. I really wanted a patio to put it on. I made up my mind I can do this Could not afford to get material all at one shot so it took time piece by peace to build. Just as Alanon taught me to take piece by pieace of things with in me. My feelings dealings situations all types of things I need to learn to work thru. As I went to Manards(store) to get my first set of bricks and bag of sand it was heavy...I did it though Had to ask for help at times. Just as in Alanon needed to ask my sponsor for guidance, Plus go to meetings f2f .50 lb bags of sand and each brick weighed 24 lbs. As I left each brick on the cart. I realized I cared 24 lbs of of a problem around for a long time wow lots of wieght to carry around, and that would be only one. I would load 20 bricks at a time and go back once I had more money. Like alanon I needed to keep going back to gain the riches alanon has to offer.First I needed to clean the area like make it a effort as I do step by step...Then I laid out paper to not let weeds come thru my work. Weeds come up no matter just like in life we need to re weed from time to time. After the foundation is set I had to lay sand and place brick by brick in my new area. Just like working step by step with my sponsor. Hubby was helping me lay the bricks for at times they just were to heavy. Just like some problems I had in life to heavy needed to share my burden with another. My hubby and I bonded we grew as we worked together. I went and got the materials and we started to see our patio grow. For he worked all day at job. Each brick needed to be leveled. Just like I needed to feel level in life. If it was off it would rock. Me too I would be unsteady also if I did not level things out in my mind. All bricks are in there place. Now I needed to put a sealing sand in every crack. Just like using a slogan or step in the cracks of my life. To apply this will keep bricks from shifting. Just as I need Alanon not to shift back to old behaviors. After that step need to sweep. I was good at sweeping things away and isolate. But with the patio need every grain of sand you can gather to not waste money or your time. Just as Alanon we need to apply evenly things that happen within. The final touch is water. Just as hubby and I finished drops of rain feel. On our new patio water helps it settle. HP(God) makes it rain. And God makes things settle within self. Let go and let God was what we did. See if nature will give the finishing touch. I am grateful I now have a patio to swing with my new gift and I grew learning hHow to do this in more ways than one.
