Follow-up journal entry...

7-03-06

Georgia is good name, so I chose the font for that reason.

I just wanted to follow-up. My Sweetie  gets off of work soon, goes to an A.A. meeting, and then will be on his way to see me. My recovery is important to me. I must fit time in. I must write. I must. I've journaled since I was 10 years old. (Sadly, it was always about love--the possibility of having it, feeling it, finding it, yada ya. Gee, sounds like I grew up in an alcoholic family system! Hah!) This is the best means for healing for me.

Recap of my day

I did a good job at keeping the peace within me while at work. Positive thoughts... I had a team meeting and one client because the other one ended up cancelling, which is fine. It's the holiday.

I was able to spend more time with the other client and she really needed that. I was able to practice encouragement, problem-solving, and communication skills. I still kept thinking positively. I took the time to consider the details of what my client was saying.

In the past, I wanted her to stop crying about her previous job, but not this time. I took the time to listen to understand why she was really crying. I talked with her long enough (even in circles) until the truth revealed itself. Beacuse I remembered from Hope for Today that a healthy meeting begins with me, I must be positive, and giving. I applied the principles from the book to a meeting that I had outside of Al-anon. I shared positive thoughts that expressed hope, reality, and encouragement. I kept it simple.

This really is the first day (in 9 months) that I have come home feeling that I had a successful meeting with a client and can close the door to my work-day. I may not quit after all. Sigh. Woohoo! I'm on track.

So, it's time for a bike ride. My Daily Affirmations advise me to take care of my physical health also. I can't remember what page that was. I'll come to it again in about a year. Hah! I'm quick ...boy I tell ya!

I might not write an entry in the A.M., however, I'm going to try to write before the end of tomorrow.

Thank you to those who responded to my last post.
