Heard something today, wanted to share, found this statement very powerful

Many of us including myself find themselves revisiting situations that have come and gone. I for one still wonder "why me", and all the other things that creep up in our minds periodically. Not so good memories come along , and we seem to let it go there and rehash situations that we cannot possibley change. The stinking thinking raises it's ugly head and low and behold we are back to that dark hole again. So, I heard this phrase and it stuck so I thought I would share, and perhaps it will help some of you to keep moving forward.

             "It's ok to look back,,,,,,,,but don't stare!"

Thanks gg

Hi.....Thanks, Yes, 4th of July, I get the deer in headlights look, and "FREEZE"   Still workin' on my mind, mentally.   Just wish there was a lot to look forward to (hopefully is, just cannot see it now), sometimes I think that would help, but forward progress is never as fast as I would like it.

RE: Heard something today, wanted to share, found this statement very powerful

oh I hear you wallsal.......We live in a society where everything is "fast". We have fast food, we go to automated bank machines getting our cash fast, we drive fast,so we want to change our lives fast. Alanon teaches us to have patience. It takes time to heal and move forward. Think of all the years it has taken for us and even the A to get to this point, without realizing that we were changing, ever so gradually, pre -alanon. I too wanted a quick fix, now , perhpas even yesterday and "poof" things would be normal. HUH! It is a repitition of listening and learning, going to meetings on a regular basis, that I have finally began to let go and start to live again , after my A husband decided to leave and continue his drinking career ,as I call it. I still love him very much and miss him very much, however my life is too short to keep wallowing in self pity. The way I was I would never want to be around a person like that. So my motto is to be the best role model I can be for myself. Hang in there girl, it will get better. I never thought I would ever been in the place where I am now,,but I am, and I am trying to live life to its fullest.
