I was telling a program friend how much help I have received after 15 years of alanon. I went to many therapists and they all helped me in certain ways, but my self-esteem, setting boundaries, resigning from the Doormat Club, all have improved in leaps and bounds. The ESH in the rooms is priceless. That's why I'm a grateful member every single day.

Absolutely. Al-Anon has literally saved my insanity from living with insanity and in an insane situation. Thankfully I am out of that chaos and clutter.
There was a reading from last weeks Courage to Change, October 2nd which mentioned service work and by helping out it aids my recover too. I've been blessed to be able to assist with my local in-person group to offer service and assist others. Every day, every meeting I feel my recovery growing, one day at a time, one step at a time. I've had a bit of a wobble this week but must keep going forward.
From Oct 2nd CTC;
Todays Reminder The Al-Anon program was there for me when I needed it. I will do what I can to ensure that it continues to thrive. I know that any service I offer will strengthen my own recovery.
God did for me what I couldnt do for myself. He got me involved in service work.. . . It saved my life, my family, my sanity. . . . In All Our Affairs
