So Much For Promises

My last post was to tell everyone how sick the alcoholic husband made himself.  Ended up in the hospital for two weeks

with a perforated stomach ulcer and how he swore, unsolicited by me, that he would never take another drink again.

Well so much for the promise and when I reminded him tonight while he sat there with his beer in his hand about his

promise, he proceeded to attack me and told me he was filing for divorce because he could not take living with someone

he had no meaningful relationship with, who uses him and so forth and so on.  Same old story, deflect from the immediate

issue and blame it all on me.  So I told him he was doing me a favor.

{{{Deb}}} Being married to an alcoholic is one of the hardest parts of my life, however it brought me to alanon and for that I am grateful. My A is cycling through going to meetings and having a sponsor, and then stopping both of those. I have learned to focus on myself and take care of me. It's still a rough road though. Whatever is going to happen in your situation just remember to think and pause when needed. Do what's best for you. Peace & love & prayers.

{{{{Lyne}}}} Thank you so much for being here and I to am very grateful for the teachings of Al-Anon. Without Al-Anon I don't

know how I could have possibly remained sane. I am so tired of being married to a disease. The "A" is not able to be a functioning

human being at this point, but I will survive and make the right decisions when the time comes. I am dealing with my Mother, who

in the care of Hospice in end stage heart failure and today I found out that they started to administer liquid morphine. I have my

family who are helping each other and on top of this sadness they are supporting me dealing with the "A". {{HUGS}}

(((((DFG))))). That double whammy sounds tough DFG. Hopefully you get a moment in amongst it all just for yourself even if just a hot shower and nap. Take care.
