This is a great read to me.  It says if you dont want to be a doormat, you must get up from the floor.  I cant control others, but I can be responsible for my choices.  It goes on to say that I was a willing participant in a dance they had two partners.  In many ways I was a victim but came to see I was a volunteer.  

The reminder is wonderful:  It can be very empowering to take responsibility for my own choices.  I will act in my own best interest today.

I often say I have resigned from the Door Mat Club!  And I truly embrace that idea.  I was a victim, a slave, and completely powerless human, and all that has changed.  Ive been able to learn to love and respect myself, with all my flaws, and all my positive qualities.  It takes two to tango.  In the future I will choose my dance partners.  :)
