Spouse Issue

I made errors on my insurance claim page last night and my spouse, who insures me through his employer, threatened to remove my rights to

my account under his name, even though I found a way to correct those errors.  He berated and belittled me for an hour and I have to admit I

got sucked into the mayhem when I should have walked away.  Later I discovered that he was on his fourth beer and when he drinks he is extremely

belligerent.  Of course this morning it was all about him and his hurt feelings.  The thing is he called someone on his work cell and said that he had

someone on the line listening to me without my knowledge.  I feel so abused right now and can use some input.

By the way I was a member of this board for many years under the name of Debb and glad that this board is still here!!!!

Well DFG, so glad to have you back. The board is struggling to stay afloat!

I think I would feel the same way exposed to all that you described. Of course the only input I can give is to stay in recovery and use those tools you've learned. Let go and let God, Think, Step 1, The Serenity Prayer, etc. I find I need regular exposure to my program to stay steady, and some days it's harder than others. Keep coming back! Lyne

Thanks Lyne for your input and response!!! {{HUGS}}

I had an occasion, the next day, when we semi discussed the issues and just told him exactly how I felt.

He wasn't very happy, but the bottom line was that if he did not come to terms with what he has been

doing in respect to his disrespect for me that I wanted to sell the house and go our separate ways. It

seems to have brought the severity of his action full circle to him and the matter seems to have been

settled for the time being. That is the first time I ever said to him lets call it quits.
