C2C, 6/23, Being honest with ourselves

This reading is about learning to be honest with ourselves so we can grow spiritually.  It's not easy to admit someone we love has a drinking problem and we are powerless.  Many things are beyond our control and that's why we need a power greater than ourselves.

Honesty has many positive aspects--admitting we need help, making amends, exploring our attitudes and actions each day, and letting us be humble.  Honesty is an essential part of the 12 Steps.

I practice being honest.  I want to be an honest person both for my recovery and in my relationships with all others.  My spouse in AA has a long way to go in this dept.  The quote implies you cannot have dignity without honesty.
