Somewhere at this site, is a story posted Feb 25, 2012. That was a few days ago. Anyway, it's the story of how Nancy (my wife) and I got together. It was printed in the AA Grapevine in May of 2010 and was also included in a grapevine book entitled Forming True Partnerships. So, we all know about the pandemic. When it first started, the groups around here closed down or went to Zoom, and by the second wave, if you weren't going to zoom meetings, you weren't going to meetings in either fellowship. Nancy always said someday she would like to go to Hawaii, so on our wedding anniversary (December 31) in 2021, we went to a meeting in Hawaii. Okay it was on Zoom but it was still in Hawaii. We still go to that group at least once a week. It's a noon meeting for them, but it's at 6 pm here. Hawaiian Islands Sonriety. Good meeting, if you like that AA talk.

This new years eve, Nancy and I will celebrate 24 years of marriage. We've been together a quarter of a century. I remember when we started to date I said it would be great if I could give you the moon and the stars and promise that I'll love you till the end of time, except I don't know what I'll be doing at the end of time. I only know what I'm doing on one day. Today. So all I can give you is one day. Today. If we want to do it the next day, then we'll try it that day. That was March 24, 1998 and we're still at it. Al-anon (and AA) showed me how to have a true partnership with another human being. I owe you for that.
