Hope for Today May 14

Good morning everyone-

Todays reading is a focus on our slogan Let Go and Let God. The writer compares gardening (preparing soil, adding nutrients, planting seeds, watering) to the growth we find in Al-Anon. Just as at some point in the gardening experience, we detach and wait to see what grows, we can prepare ourselves for growth in recovery and allow our HP to guide us.  There is a phrase the writer uses that caught my attention: (in the program) fellow members loosen my misunderstandings about alcoholism while the program offers me the nutrition and protection I need to grow.

I know that I can get quite locked into a certain way of thinking, so the image of other people with wisdom loosening up my misundertandings is such a strong one. The writer goes on to describe some of the ways we grow and get stronger in recovery: attending meetings, reading the literature, corresponding with sponsor, volunteering. All of those things help us get stronger and then our HP helps us find serenity.

The Thought for the Day: First I dream. Then I do. Then I detach and let God determine the outcome.

Happy Mothers Day to all moms here and remembered.

I hope everyone enjoys a peaceful Sunday:)

Good morning

I like todays reading. And I love the gardening analogy, its so perfect.

I wish everyone a happy Mothers Day. I know for some it will be filled with love and happiness while for others it may be a hard day. Whichever it is, hugs to all
