Hope for Today, Monday, 1/23, maintaining an attitude of gratitude

Today's writer is exploring how to understand and keep an attitude of gratitude.  It isn't when life happens the way we want, nor a high from instant gratification.  Instead, it has been learned that gratitude is an integral part of serenity, and it is often the means to restoring serenity.  Gratitude can also open the heart to the healing touch of our Higher Power.  We can be grateful for many, many things, and we should know that gratitude leads to growth.

"Just for today I will smile...I will be grateful for what I have instead of concentrating on what I don't have."

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I relate to this reading because for much of my life I only saw what I didn't have, and what others had.  I was stuck feeling lesser than everyone else.  I had no clue how to feel grateful.  And I can't explain exactly how it happened but after being in program a number of years, I see gratitude in the most simple things--a leaf, a cloud, my dog's expression, etc.  I have really changed from Sally Sad Sack to a grateful human being.  :)

Good morning

There's always, always something to be grateful for no matter the circumstances. As an example,I am grateful for today's reading for reminding me of that!

Have a good day!

Thank you Lyne for your service, today's reading reminder and to you and SunnyFrog for both your ESH.

I agree with you both, that when I am feeling out of sorts for what ever reason, because of Al-Anon, I

immediately remind myself that "Life is good" and am so grateful for all that I have and those little

annoyances fade away! {{HUGS}} Happy Monday all!!

Thank you Lyne for your service.

In the past, I have looked at what I don't have. Mostly as a way to motivate me to make the changes needed (school, jobs, etc). It served it's purpose. But now it just keeps me mired in unhappiness. Al-Anon has helped me to understand that I need to be grateful for what I have right now. Because sometimes it's the little things in life that can sustain you. Today, I am grateful for this reminder, and the ESH of SF and Deb!

Thank you Lyne for kickstarting the week with the focus on gratitude. I am at peace because all of my needs are met and it seems more blessings come my way when thankful. Appreciate all the shares which make this just another Magic Monday.
