1/3/23 C2C Every Long Journey Starts Somewhere

Great page that reminds us of the incredible importance of this day, today. If I want something different in my life, I can start or continue in the direction I want, today.

We can't undo long established patterns or right all wrongs in a single day, but we can take a small step toward our goal. Small steps, consistently taken, stack up to make long term progress.

Reminder: No one can stop me from changing. No one knows exactly what change is needed, including me, until I start. It only takes a little shift to make a change.

"The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." - Lao-tse
---------------------------
So easy to forget this, so important to remember.

This is similar to diet and eating, where small but consistent adjustments lead to significant changes: just 150 calories each day can equal something like 20 pounds in 10 years. The change is gradual and almost unnoticeable while it's happening, but has a long term impact that is undeniable.

At the beginning of the month, the beginning of the year, it is a great time to pick a single quality to focus and work on every day.

Slow and steady might win a race, but it certainly is successful in spiritual progress. So grateful for the reminders

Thank you so much Paul for your service, reading shares and ESH.

I do love that diet analogy and like you love the reminders everyday.

I look at each day as a "clean slate" and with Al-Anon's guidance

I have the opportunity to make a better life for myself.

Thank you Paul for your service and reminder to take small steps. "Clean slate"-love it! On my board today is: pause/listen. Pause before responding to anything (good or bad) and listen twice as much as I speak. Once that becomes a habit, I'll wipe the board in a day?month? year? and make another change. Have a wonderful day.

Good morning. Thanks for all the shares.

I have been learning patience lately. I was getting so aggravated and depressed because things seem to take way longer than I would like them to. I have really beat myself up for the slow pace that things are happening and changing. But, I have been reminding myself that these small steps,no matter how slow and painful(not really painful, they just feel that way)will eventually build.

I woke up kinda feeling that way today again, aggravated and depressed. But then I sent a message to someone and said something kind to them. It's a step in the right direction. I am grateful I came here and was reminded of the importance of continuing these daily small steps.

You gotta learn to crawl before you can walk...

Have a good day everyone.
