Hope for Today Dec 25

Good morning everyone-

Todays reading is a look at what serenity might be.  Among other things, the writer describes serenity as: the space between impulse and action, understanding that reacting to life and responding to life are not the same thing, becoming a complete being with my body and mind in one place at the same time.

When I consider serenity, I think about letting go of chaos and conflict. In my case its also letting go of trying to control those situations that are not mine to control. Todays page opens with serenity described as a way of life absorbed slowly and practiced one day at a time. As the year is coming to an end and another about to get started, what better time to try and put the focus of serenity at the center!

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Merry Christmas to all who celebrate, happy holidays and warm wishes for a day of serenity with many more to follow.

I hope you enjoy a peaceful Sunday

Mary

Thank you Mary for your service and as noted, timely topic. I appreciate all the ESH. The day has been ho-hum so far and instead of forcing an upbeat attitude, I am accepting that faking it is not going to cut it today. My hubby has a low appetite so I gave him the option to postpone our festive meal for another day. Win/Win-I have low energy for Creative Cooking with love (lol) . It's nice to have zero expectations for myself and others. This ties in with a recent share that stuck with me-seeking balance in acceptance and expectations- for continuing spiritual development. As I write, my mood is shifting from flat to tranquil. Thanks MIP. Wishing everyone a peaceful day.
