hi all, question wrt detachment.  i used to react when my a drank, lied, did drugs...  lately i have been kind and understanding it is a disease.  and it is certainly better for me.  i say things like, i am sorry you are having such a hard time...  the question is - i wonder if i am being more of an enabler...  i am not covering up for him nor solving his problems, but by being sympathetic am i  making it easier for him to give in to it?  please let me know what you think - thanks - quest
