The material presented
here is not Al-Anon Conference Approved Literature. It is a method

level.
Step 1, admitting we are powerless is often thought of as the most challenging, but today's writer suggests Step 2's part-time sanity acknowledgement gets Honorable Mention.
We can turn simple issues into 7-magnitude quakes and lose perspective completely, as if we would do better with more worry or concern.
Reminder - When a problem gets my attention, I will ask myself 'Is this a mountain, or a molehill?' Don't waste time and energy on something that does not require me to get involved and can be ignored.
"Some folks worry and putter, Push and shove, Hunting little molehills To make big mountains of." - unattributed ------------------------------- Ah yes, my insanity... embarrassing, humbling, and still very present at times...often inversely proportional to the importance of the issue.
Small issue = bigger hangup and rant, since it's such a small issue THEY should get it RIGHT, how dare THEY screw it up, that's OUTRAGEOUS says the insane me...
Higher power, please restore me to sanity...help me right size this silly issue that I made 1000x worse with my ridiculousness...
Grateful for the reminders, so simple, so effective, so necessary

"...when we try to control others, we lose the ability to manage our own lives." - Paths to Recovery
Thanks Paul for your service and share. Yes Im guilty of magnifying many things, but as time goes on I am able to put things in better perspective. I try to put things on the scale of life and evaluate their importance that way=cancer is huge, the out of stock wallpaper not so much. Keep it simple and Think come to mind. Pause is a good plan always!
Good Morning Everyone. Thanks for highlighting how insane I become by making mountains out of a molehill. For the past few hours, I've been washing walls and rearranging furniture to brighten up the place. The original plan was to hire painters and have everything done before the holiday season. I admitted I neither have the strength or energy to tackle and keep from getting overwhelmed. Deferred that project to the spring and won't freak on hubby when he "damages" the walls when putting up decorations. Life is so much easier when I accept my powerlessness (and limitations). Have a great day.
