My former sponsor, DON,T!! taught me a lot which I came to accept as very very valid because of how it changed my life. One of the most important, if not the most important is that Humility is "Being teachable" which has always worked when I work it. Patience is always good for my heart and spirit and the quiet I love during my daily life. I don't like being out of patience and when I find that I am caught up in a scramble I will shut down everything in my daily life and grab as much acceptance and patience practice until the quiet returns and my body relaxes.
Gonna go see the dentist very soon and packing DON,T along with me.
Hugs, Jerry! Thank you for sharing this. I also learned from an elder in the program that humility means being teachable. I love hearing that this wisdom is out there in the world for others to know. A slogan I think about when going to the dentist is "this too shall pass."
I would have loved the painless kind only that wish is now pass as is the pain that left me kicking in the chair. All women doing the surgery and assistance and still my jaw thought I was done for. Am at home now and just okay with 2 teeth gone. Thank you God I knew I would live thru it and still I'm no superman. 12 stepping...thanks.
