Through the lock-down period I have realised that I am no longer a newcomer.
I think I always had a newcomer spirit. Eyes wide open. Sparkling sometimes.
I think that laughter comes much easier these days.
In my F 2 F group there is an older timer who has as many years in Alanon.
She had a major breakthrough- in her recovery in recent times- and was so
excited to share it.
She was openly grateful that I was able to sit in on the group when she was away.
Because she is a member of a next door group to the one I came through, the group
shares very similar characteristics.
In our neck of the woods we usually all share our own Step One when a newcomer
comes along.
Spent the day helping a daughter and sil shift into their new home. Older daughter
and family too came along to help.
Tiring, but a good day's work. ...
Each Alanon member is my teacher.
