I'm looking forward to the day with a happy feeling...been a long time coming.

Great David!!!  lasting over 90  minutes tells me a lot about how your program is going.  Had a newcomer lad in our group sitting right next to me anxious to get started; 22 years of age???  really?  I can't remember being that age myself and wasn't in Al-Anon then.  The disease was biding it's time on me and I was yet to meet the AFG.  I was grateful as I watch his  knee hopping rapidly trying to keep busy and get the lesson over.  I shared gratitude with him before he left and passed on some of what was given to me  at my start;...the phone numbers and such and told him I was  there to help if he cared and then the ladies took over....Gonna watch another AFG miracle happen.  This works when we work it.  I feel good really good; who knows may be; Right DavidG  and Debb?  ((((Hugs)))) aww

smile Jerry. I regard this group- MIP Alanon as a stand-alone group. Lots of active members- like a big-city group.

Where we can swap notes, trade our ESH, and share our recovery. Coming slowly out of lock-down... ...we

have been through this together, too... aww ...

Hi all. There is talk of my F2F home group meeting in person in Sept. We've been on zoom this entire time of covid, with lots of different and new people stopping by, but recently we have faced a shortage of leaders and people to run the zoom. I'm not willing to lead every week--seems unfair/unhealthy (my sponsor gave me some ESH on this). Last week myself and my program friend waited for 15 min to be let into the zoom room, and no one ever showed up to run the zoom. I was prepared to lead as arranged in advance. Not sure what will happen this week ahead. I'm powerless over others. Grateful I have MIP.

{{{Jerry and all}}}, so glad to hear that some groups are having a good experience going back F2F. It's starting to happen in my district, and some are trying hybrid with both Zoom and in-person at the same time, but the group I attend isn't there yet because the venue where we meet is still closed to outside groups. I do look forward to hanging out in the room after the meeting and talking with folks one on one.

Lyne, one of the things I learned -- as you said -- it's not healthy to be the only person doing service to a group, carrying it on my back without others to help. Sometimes it can be a natural consequence that the group comes to an end. I heard from a wise long-time member that in one group, where he was the secretary and had keys to the room, when no one stepped up for the next term of service, he left the keys on the table and walked away. At the time I was shocked to hear that, but now I know -- it's self-care and natural consequences. Not saying this will happen to your group!!! But for sure, service has taught me how to let go. And I'm blessed that there are plenty of meetings in my area that I can choose to attend. Grateful for all the choices available for Al-Anon recovery and fellowship.

Good Morning Everyone! Jerry, the excitement is contagious . We are sloooowly reopening and last time we were teased with a relaxing of rules, my priorities were the salon and gym. My top priorities now are F2F meetings/visits with sponsor. I am a touchy-feely person so I miss eye contact, smiles and hugs. MIP will continue to be part of my spiritual journey. Thank you.
