Off topic... Naw! Total Gratitude!!

Just walked in from my trip to Missouri to see son graduate from Army Military Police training.  He is here at home with us until May 20th when he flies off to his first duty station (Hawaii - the lucky kid!).  His brothers and sister are downstairs with him now as he unpacks (his older brother couldn't wait till morning, had to come over RIGHT NOW to see him LOL).  His dog, oh my gosh, she was so excited when he walked in.

I have so much gratitude to this program and to all of you (and you know who ya are) who helped me find acceptance with this decision of his to join the Army.  A very wise woman said "You don't have to like it, you just have to accept it."  Thank you.

Last night they had the "Warrior's Banquet" and several awards were given out.  His graduating class consisted of 4 companies.  The Drill Sergeant from each company chose 2 soldiers from their company who were the "Best of the Best" to award them a coin of Excellence.  He got one!!  (He also got an expert with the 9 mil shooting award.)  The graduation ceremony was this morning.... its been a long day (rushing to get to airport on time LOL), glad to be home, glad he's home with us for this bit of time.

Just had to share my gratitude with you all.  Thank you!!

Luv, Kis

Kis,

My son has been in the military for 5 years since he was 17 years old. He has been overseas 3 times and is currently in Iraq. Having listened to him and been to his graduation, I can appreciate the training that your son has been through. To get an award is outstanding because they have very high standards. Our other sons were so thrilled when he would come home on leave. And as you said even the our dogs were excited.

You should be very proud. They are strong young men. Thanks for your share.

In support,

Nancy

Kis,

Glad to hear your son is going to Hawaii instead of somewhere else.  Having been in the Army myself briefly years ago (before I changed my mind)  Hawaii is a great place to be stationed- would of gone there had I made it thru boot camp.  Of course, now my reasoning to totally different since my niece, nephew and grand niece all live on the Big Island.
