... south of us is a vast farming district.The locals roll their r-r-r-'s when they speak. Humble honest folk. And the groups in the southern city are burgeoning.
I am not going to rehearse the topic at the assembly. Stuff there, of course, is "in committee". It is more than possible that someone from our district will read this. The traditions and concepts- will reach us boundaries, over time. But not just by reading them- by seeing them in action...
...I took a newer member with me, from our group. Something I believe in. Four eyes and four ears- and the combined input was invaluable.
One part of how my hometown group evaporated- was to do with double winners serving as group reps. Just imagine a group with 5 double winners and one single winner. Does the poor old single winner have to represent the group forever, or a day?
I was a good deal for me to bring it up. I was passionate about it. I said in my first sentence- that this was a five year or ten year issue. I got all the feed-back and information I needed- lots of it. But the top was aired. And I was not tarred and feathered!
This morning I have two mokapuna [grandkids] sitting beside me as I wrote this.
We had a major meltdown last night with Ad., aged 11 wanting to go home. The I-phone helps... she was extremely tired with netball in the morning and hours of cousin time later in the day.
Today she is "good as gold" as my mum would have said. ...
For years I was afraid to speak my mind. Partly this was due to being a member of the Doormat Club, but overall when taught a message that I didnt count, wasnt worthy, and was stupid, why would I want to speak up about anything????
Everything has changed with program. I do a pretty good job now expressing my thoughts and needs. The hardest is with my son, but Im getting better! Progress not perfection. :)
