Last night my home group celebrated 17 years. I would have gotten my 7 year coin but alas, we were on zoom. I felt disappointed as our celebrations each year are very enjoyable, and I am someone who cherishes my coins representing each year of alanon. I must confess I went to the meeting with a poor attitude.
OHAT (one hour at a time)our meeting was great!!! We had 36 attendees on zoom and fabulous AA and alanon speakers. I was just as spellbound by their stories as if we had all been there in person. We broke into small groups after the speakersthere were 4 in mineand we shared and got to know each other.
Great share on how to adapt to the "new normal." Also, kudos to you for getting to 7 years!!

Lyne, congratulations to you and your group! Sending a "virtual" 7-year coin to you, as I also treasure each one I receive.
My district has just started a process where on our birthday month we can send a request to the birthday chip coordinator, via our website, and she will send us our birthday coin in the mail.
Thank you for sharing your recovery with us here Lyne! Huge congrats. to you and your group. I too cherish my coins and carry them with me always. The modified normal we are experiencing sure does give me opportunities to accept new situations - I do better some days than other days - part of my human experience. Keep doing what you're doing - looks awesome on you! I have no doubt that Betty is smiling that great flashy smile in awe of your progress and anniversary!
