I live in Canada. Today is our nations birthday so it's a holiday, right. No rest for the wicked or the weary. It's just another working day for me. Oh well, they pay me by the hour and I like money. I would like to be home today because there's a family group meeting at my place tonight. Like most places, the meetings have all been online but recently we re-opened ours and it's tonight, but I have to work. I hear the topics will be Step 7, Tradition 7, and maybe Concept 7. I usually make cookies or cheesecake but this time I switched it up and made some other goodies. Banana bread to replace the cookies and ambrosia fruit salad to replace the cheesecake. I'm sure they'll enjoy it.

Wolfie, I wish I could go to one of your meetings -- they sound delicious! Seriously, I would have a hard time staying 12 steps away from the baked goodies.
Happy belated Canada Day Wolfie! I hope your day was lovely and blessed and I have no doubt you were missed at the meeting....prolly less than usual as you left lovely treats for all who showed up!! Love and light - great to see you as always!

Yeah, it's definitely a kitchen style meeting even if it is on the deck and not a very big one so we have that degree of intimacy. Some of the local AA groups opened their doors again last week. Nothing from Al-Anon yet, except us. But there's a light at the end of the tunnel. We've been 3 weeks with virtually no new cases so they're talking about opening the bubble. It's good to see people again. Blueberry cheesecake this week I think. Or maybe peach-mango.......

Same here Wolfie - some AA has opened but not yet for Al-Anon. I have not attended any F2F meetings simply because I am more comfortable socially distancing for now. We have had some small groups gathering outdoors in public spots both AA & Al-Anon. We are keeping it to 6/7 so we can sit apart yet have privacy and hear each other.
Your choices of food sound HEAVENLY! Yum...................................

Two alanon meetings have resumed in-person, but only because the 25% of the capacity of the room isn't anywhere near the # of people who come to the meeting. A member of the church staff assures they are well under the number so that the church is not in jeopardy or at risk of violating the state order. Yes, they are social distancing, and wearing masks to enter the building. Some people continue wearing the masks, others are not. Everyone seems to be OK with it as they are social distancing. Several people are not yet comfortable returning to in-person meetings. Some meetings are looking at hybrid meetings -- a combination of in-person and zoom -- in order to accommodate everyone. One meeting is also meeting outside.
It sounds like most alanon meetings -- the hundreds around the country being offered every week -- are continuing with zoom meetings. Many meetings here can't meet in-person as the # of people who attend the meeting exceed the state order.
Whatever the case may be -- alanon is there for people, and that's a good thing.
