SELF CARE INVENTORY_TUESDAY

Sinus infection coming on...so not working today...

I am taking care of me....Yea, I was sorry to delay his books another week, but stuff happens and all this crazy weather and breathing in pollins while doing yard work got me good.....so I am resting today

If he is going to get mad at me for needing to take care of my allergies where my head feels like someone hit me in the forehead, then he can't be very compassionate and I don't need that...I work hard when I am there, I don't fool around, I work, but today I feel like crap and so I am taking care of me.............told roommate I needed quiet today and she said "oh for sure!!!"

I used to be afraid having to call in , but I don't anymore....my health comes first....

OH!!  got a decent unemployment check, LOL...thought it was my stimulus check....wow!! they gave me a decent check, but I DID lose 2 clients over this Covid  so what the hey????   God is awesome,

I had completely detached from it because they had made me wait, going through hoops, but I did everything as required then detached.......

My my self-care today I have already watched a Seinfeld episode that had me crying with laughter. It gave my brain a great dose of good hormones. We have a sunny, warming day here, and Im going to take my dogs out for a nice walk with me in a little bit. Lyne :)

FANTASTIC, Lyne,,....i took my CAT out on the leash , his first time, and he did great doing "walkies" with me.....he has his harness and I made a long leash....the boy did GOOD.....

Next time I do yard work, that intense and thorough, I think I'll wear a mask...I know it was that that messed up my sinuses

OH I was all over my self care today, lol. My boss threw something at me at 9 AM when I already had my day planned out and he asked me to log on and take calls for another department. Which, isn't a big deal but I had never been trained, was uncertain about their compliance issues, and even how to validate clients so I was scrambling and stressed out being asked to do something on the fly for 2 hours of my day.

Needless to say, I ddi fine. I've been with the company for 2.5 years and I know our processes well enough to be able to flounder or figure it out. I hadn't even been trained on their phone system but, again, i figured it out.

then, my bf and I had a miscommunication about plans tonight and I was making crab cakes with a horseradish sriracha remoulade, etc for us. But, he and I got signals crossed and he was asked to go to a friend's house (we've been social distancing with a few folks from the beginning and only with them) for ribs. So, he asked if crab cakes could wait. I cooked them and then started to head out to take my car to get washed and to run to the grocery store for a few items and then I was going to come home and work on my adult coloring book and paint my nails and cook my taco pie for lunches for the rest of the week. He texts me to say that his friend hadn't even put the ribs on yet and that it would take 3 hours to cook so why don't I bring the crab cakes over? HAHAHA! Nope. I give my relationship 100% and I love my man, but I will not bend over backwards when I feel I'm second choice for the night. He can fend for himself tonight!

The old me would have jumped at the chance to serve and put my own self care on the back burner. So, after I post this, i am going to put on some 70s rock, color in my book, maybe paint my nails. The crab cakes were so amazing as was the sauce I made! such a treat! And, my son texted me a few minutes ago to ask if I wanted to go for a walk once it cools down outside tonight. Sounds great! Perfect way to end my evening as long as my taco pie is done in the oven!

I also painted my toe nails on my lunch break, lol. I did some yoga because i was sore from 3 hours of paddleboarding on Sunday and then working out on Monday. I needed a recovery day and yoga always hits the spot.

Today was such a special day. My sons 3rd birthday was today. My AH (in active recovery) is an essential worker but had today off. Our weather was gorgeous for an April day. 72 & sunny. We spent the entire afternoon outside, grilled dinner outside, ate in our newly cleaned sunroom, had cupcakes & ice cream. My son was just so happy. As were we. This was the first day in years that was calm & chaos free. I realized today how insidious his alcoholism really was...even when not drinking alcohol was an intruder (dry drunk). Sobriety is so different. I didnt work out but got in around 7500 steps. Got sun. Laughed. It was just a good day....& Im going to relish it.

LOL Andromeda, LOVE your story about the crab cakes, and yea, Man can fend for himself, LOL....your post was great......

Hey Catherine, happy b-day to son......GLAD you had a good day...I try to "do my day" in pieces, focusing on what I am doing, and TRYING not to project any problems or anything...sometimes when things are going real good, I get uncomfortable, because i think "uh oh, the biggie hit is coming" but I do my self talk and get out of that rut.....I had a shortened work out today as well...sinuses are better, as I cleanse out with saline, etc., so I took it easy, did some work on my books...going to do my income taxes pretty soon...but now??? I am just now back on computer as we had a big electrical/rain storm and it just passed through....I made me some hot chocolate with my almond milk, choc. protein powder and a dash of goats milk as I cannot drink cows milk with all the hormones, so I drink the goats millk...I sipped my hot chocolate, and watched the lightening dance all over the sky....it was kinda neat looking......
