SELF CARE INVENTORY_FRIDAY

did a REALLY difficult tax return, but I took it slow and easy and got it done

then I made some pork ribs with my own BBQ sauce and ate Reeeeeelly slow and enjoyed it to the max

Now I am resting in my nice warm room, on this grey, chilly, rainy day and am about to get into some good docus. and movies...

I am doing the EASY does it thing...I notice I don't wear me out so bad when i go the "easy does it" slogan

Hope all you are doing great and are safe

I am a creature of habit so all my mornings and most of my days are the same!

I start my days with coffee and daily readings. I follow up with a 7 mile run, filled with prayer/Christian Rock music. I then do weight training, shower, dress for the day. I have a couple text groups, recovery and HS friends that I reach out to daily (and all day), followed by computer time. Computer time includes news, journal, gratitude lists, email, forums, etc.

I practice Intermittent Fasting so don't have to worry about meals until 11ish. I plan dinner while I'm doing lunch. Many days, I schedule naps! Many days, I schedule golf. I do my nails on Monday, facial mask on Wednesday and Epsom salt soaks 3 times a week and hair masks 2ce a week. I have tons of spare time to clean, go to meetings, be of service, volunteer, etc. all of which is scheduled AFTER my self-care activities.

I make sure I reach out to someone in recovery every single day. Consistency in my days helps keep me balanced. I am fortunate to own my own business which I started after retirement. It pays the bills with minimal effort, for which I'm grateful.

Self-Care is not a goal for me, it's a huge part of my life. Without putting me first, and planning my days AFTER I tend to me, I put my serenity at risk. I am of maximum service to me and others when I am spiritually fit and centered. (((Hugs))) - we are worth it!!

WOW!!! Iam....you got me beat...I run 3 miles per day, and I love Christian Rock as well..New to it..My Roommate intro'd me to it and its great...and yes, Prayer daily...Psalms, I adore!!! there is an app on Iphone called Abide...great for stuff to go to sleep by, they also have stuff on youtube.......I also daily listen to something on Three Angels Broadcasting on youtube, while I wait for my church to open back up...sure miss my church mates and fac2fac meets on Wed. nights..We do bible study with my favorite pastor on Sat. evening..Thank God for internet, so we all at least keep in touch w/each other.......

I was gonna ride my bike today but the weather was so chilly and spitting rain, I did my exercises in my home gym...Thank God, I got all I need in my living room or bedroom...I just watch the clock and I kinda can, w/out the timer thing on the ellipticals at gym, I just look at how many minutes I am running on my runner....I do minimum 2 miles, but prefer 3....then its rowing machine for my legs/hips/back, bone density, weights for arms, ab exercises....i would say total is minimum 60 minutes, max can be twice that. I feel lousy if I don't exercise.., it helps my anxiety and PTSD stay manageable.....I sorta mix things up so I don't get bored...I'm in my 70's now so exercise is big importance for me...

LOVED your post......I had fun reading it.........HUGS

Ladies. I am super impressed with your fitness routines!!! We have kilometers as our distance metric here. I understand that is significantly less than a mile. I further understand that I'd be really hard pressed to do a half mile these days let alone two or seven. Well done to you both. Aim for tomorrow: get in a walk. I am also grateful for the self care first example. I do so long to just walk out the door in the morning and get in a jog/walk. I'm going to have to get creative with this ....... today we stopped off at a park at 7.30 for the kids to get a run around. I drank coffee and smiled encouragement. I need to organize differently to get in my self care. Thank you both for sharing your uplifting and inspiring fitness routines.
