Today's author says that confusion is a gift, because it is a message that it's not yet time to act. The example is baking bread. If it's not fully baked yet, we don't take it out of the oven and start eating it. We wait for it to be fully baked. When we are desperate to rush a solution. If we act too soon, before we are ready, the results may not taste good. We can wait, listen, and trust that the solution will appear when the time is right.
Today's Reminder: I will thank my Higher Power for whatever I experience today, even if I feel troubled or confused.I know that every experience can offer me a gift. All I have to do is be willing to look at my situation in the light of gratitude.

I like this message of patience. If my first idea to fix a situation seems "off" -- it probably is, and I need to wait for more clarity.
A thought for Valentine's Day: I heard someone say in a meeting that working the Fourth Step leads to falling in love with yourself. How are you showing love for yourself today?
I am going to a meeting, then doing some exercise (OK now I have to, because I wrote it here), and then cooking a yummy dinner -- from leftovers, so I don't have to work too hard at it..
Short, and sweet, Freetime... for me, self-love is about not being self-centred, but centred on self. Unless I was right, and full, how could anyone love and care for me.
At the time I read this posting my SO was caught in rush-hour traffic- she said she would stop by for a while and get something nice for dinner. I might have picked up the cue, there, and then.
Anyway- reading your reading your reading jolted me into emotional life!. It is Friday evening here, already... OMG! But I went out into the garden and cut some nice fresh red roses and had them sitting on the bench when SO finally reached home. Saved the day, really... ... thanks... ... ... ...
Thanks FT for your service and for above shares. Yes, I think Valentine's Day is a good day to make sure we love ourselves and are taking good care of us. The passage about confusion being a gift reminds me of the premise that being with an alcoholic is a gift. My gut reaction is to say NO, these are not gifts, but if I can pause and think, I understand the reasoning. Lyne
Happy Valentine's Day MIP! Thank you Freetime for your service and the daily. Thanks to all for the shares/ESH. I viewed confusion as a 'weakness' often before recovery. Today, I see it as an opportunity to pause and consider what are the facts and what's the best 'next right thing' for me/my recovery.
Gratitude does matter to me daily and when I am open and accept what is instead of what I think 'should be', I can keep my serenity no matter what's going on with me or around me. Confusion is no longer bad in my life - instead it signals that I have some thinking, praying, processing to do.
Love and light all - our weather warmed up enough to go out and about and run some errands! I love hibernating yet when it's time to depart, I'm kind of giddy....doesn't take much to make me smile - which is a good thing!
