Hi MIP members! It's been awhile since I've visited the board, but it's great to see some familiar names still here and active. I am so grateful for all the gifts I've received from Al-Anon. And these gifts just keep on giving. I'm feel so much more happy and content in my continued recovery after losing my AH to this horrible disease. Going through the hell that I did to get here was not an easy journey! One of my favorite lines is, "If you're going through Hell, don't stop!"
This year has been such a blessing: I got remarried and we just recently bought a home in Arizona. We'll move there permanently once I take early retirement in June. I'm so excited for what the future might hold.... If you told me that I would be where I am now back when I went to my first Al-Anon meeting 10 years ago, I would have thought you were crazy. But my HP had a plan for me- I just needed to listen and have hope. It really does "work when you work it."
My AD is still stuck, but I continue to love her from afar, and have let my HP be in control of her path. It's not my journey anymore. She's almost 33 yrs old and still has a lot of growing up to do. "I can't help her, HE can, I'll let HIM."
Thanks for letting me share and please continue to do all the good you do here- it matters and it is sincerely appreciated!
Hugs,
GE
