Hope for Today, August 23 - Sponsorship

Today's reading is about sponsorship.  The author finds joy and recovery in being a sponsor.  It is a privilege to hear what a sponsee shares and to see their growth, which is a reminder of the author's progress too.  The sponsee's difficulties also provide an opportunity for the sponsor to do some self-reflection.

Thought for the day: In becoming a sponsor, I cultivate a listening heart for others as well as myself.

---------------------------

I am so grateful for sponsorship!  My sponsor was like a miracle appearing at the right time.  Now I am a sponsor and find a lot of joy in it, and am so proud of my sponsee for diligently working through the steps.  Just today, I had the chance to sit with another member struggling with how to do her group service position.  It was beneficial to both of us.

MIP friends, what do you think about sponsorship?

Thank you Freetime for your service.
I love my sponsor. She is a rock when I need her to be, and completely understanding without allowing me to wallow.

Thank you Freetime for the daily and your service! For my recovery, both sides of sponsorship has propelled me in my growth. Relying on one who came before me helps keep me honest, humble and hopeful. Being present for one who came after me does keep me grounded, tests my growth in areas needed (patience, listening, etc.) and brings me gratitude in watching growth/change/healing.

Happy Friday to one and all - lovely morning for golf! We came upon a hole that had probably 50 geese all around the tee box! They were unwilling to move for us and we got to watch them do 'their thing' for a bit. Slowly, they did meander on their way! So cool to see the glory and beauty in all creatures we share this world with! (((Hugs))) to all - make it a great day!

I Am also grateful for this post Free Time cause it confirms what I also came to understand with the reading.  My sponsors were gifts from HP and for that I am grateful.        ((wink))
