The material presented
here is not Al-Anon Conference Approved Literature. It is a method
to exchange
information, ideas, feelings, problems and solutions on a personal
level.
The reading for Monday, 4/22, talks about the importance of the first 3 steps: admit the areas we are powerless over, we learn about a power greater than ourselves, and we place our will and our lives in the hands of the higher power. We let go of burdens that were not ours in the first place, and we can be kinder to ourselves.
The later steps are for our well-being. We begin a rewarding process and can be more gentle about our recovery.
Reminder: The first three steps are the cornerstone on which my progress is built. No matter how long I have been in this program, I won't hesitate to touch base with the foundation of my spiritual health.

I certainly relate to this reading as I am currently doing the steps with my sponsor for the second time. I am aware of a huge difference as compared to the first round. I can see my growth as well as my defects of character still needing attention. I have gained a deeper understanding of my alanon program and how my HP fits into all of this. Its actually a learning experience about myself, and it does feel very rewarding. I encourage everyone to consider to taking another crack at the steps if its been several years since the last time, Lyne
Thank you Lyne for your service and the daily! I am thrilled it's posted a little early as I have early plans tomorrow. Each time I visit the steps I see/feel/find new things. It seriously is like peeling back layers on a onion, which I really thought was kind of a silly analogy the first few times I heard it.
I also visit Steps 1-2-3 each morning as I need to be reminded that I am powerless over others, yet I can serve myself each day, align spiritually as best I can and face anything life brings me, hopefully with some measure of grace and dignity. I am far from perfect but i do put in the effort! It makes a huge difference for me to keep thing simple, stay close to my program and trust the God of my understanding, one day at a time!
(((Hugs))) to all and make your Monday awesome!

Hi Lyne Thank you for sharing you thoughts on this important reading. I agree that The first 3 Steps are indeed the map to finding recoevry.. i aM
So very happy that I decided to work theses powerful steps.
Thanks for your service
Thank you Lyne, for your service and the daily.
The first time I did the First Three, it was to learn how to detach, cope & ACCEPT. Now I am constantly going back to them as a touchstone of sorts... b/c I am learning more about myself each time. Like Iamhere says, the layers of an onion.
Hope your week is smooth sailing!
