Jade and resident

I won't usually fool around on this board because what is done here is so very powerful and beautiful regarding our recovery however where I am and was raised we learn that everything has spirit and for me the Jade flower is evidence of the loving power of my HP and the Mo`o on the vine is also.  Just revealing just a couple of tools my HP uses to touch me.   (((smile)))

Thank you, Jerry.  The Jade certainly is beautiful and I love that you feel its spirit.  You now have me thinking on this topic.....hmmmm.  I feel the need to be on the look out for what speaks to me....which of HPs creations is particularly powerful for me.

beautiful stuff....

On my last trip to Hawaii, I was surprised to learn that Hawaii's #1 export - by a long shot - was not pineapples or coffee, but tropical flowers!

Lovely jade!!! Thanks for sharing with us Bro! I can say that almost all things alive in nature speak to me with some type of a calm. One of the reason I like where I am is the seasons. I feel renewed each spring when things start greening up and popping through the ground. Same in summer when our veggies are ready and then fall blooms also. I had a jade plant that I'd nursed indoors for 5-7 years, and for an unknown reason, it died this year. Same place, same temperatures, same east side sunshine - dunno what happened!

I love plants and am down to about 50 house plants....at one time, it was closer to 125! I've gifted some and others have passed on but nature calms me more than anything else. Before we married, we came to HI each year for about 3 weeks. As Tom mentions, the flowers, gardens, landscaping, etc. was beyond words beautiful...that's why we kept coming back! Have not been over for 27 years - must make a plan! My gal pal who left here to go to HI to be closer to her son has returned to my part of the world....said it just didn't feel like home. I do tease her about returning to KS in the winter time! She just smiles and says she's grateful to be back!

We have another storm coming tonight/tomorrow - my hope is our temperatures stay above freezing so it's only rain this time! (((Hugs)))

Wow thank you for sharing Jerry! I have never seen that plant in flower. It is really interesting and lovely. Snow coming again here. I am so ready for Spring. I changed my avatar too and this amaryllis I watched for about six weeks from bulb to flowering. I am so sick of winter lol TT

I know what you mean TT as I feel blessed also to be back home in the islands.  I came across your avatar just a while back and was stunned by the deep red color.  If it wasn't for the fact that I might be moving soon this yard would be flooded with red hibiscus.  This afternoon my heart smiled because as I was clearing away some over growth I found a beauty of an orchid hiding almost out of view.  When I get surprised (often) by these flowers I laugh and mahalo (thanks) my HP.

This Jade also has a red/orange version which I will look to see if I have pictures of.  (((((hugs))))) aww

Thank you for sharing this, Jerry! I always love to see your photography!

I saw that you changed your Avatar on another post, and I said to myself, "Wow! What an unusual flower! I wonder what it is? Probably some beautiful, exotic flower from his garden in Hawaii!" LOL! I was right! Very unusual color for Mother Nature... When I see "unusual" things in nature, I too, mahalo my HP for the special opportunity!

RE: your comment above about the content of this post... I don't mind "stuff like this," b/c it brightens my day. There were days that nothing uplifted my spirit except seeing something beautiful from nature, or a funny meme someone sent me that day. At the time, I didn't have the strength to seek those things out, so when I came upon them b/c of the actions of another, I was grateful.

Grateful today.

Rose I believe everyone needs to pay attention to what the Creator/Higher Power puts in our lives.  I was speaking with a recovering brother this morning after our "At the Bay" meeting and he is also local with the conversation turning to being touched and told by HP how, when, where we might make appropriate decisions for our recovery lives.  I am in the decision making position right now so we compared wisdom and knowledge passed on to us thru our culture by our elders over time and I am extremely grateful at being taught and knowing and practicing the old methods which has worked very well for me and my hold on the program since I finally acknowledge that the program came to me very like how I was taught from a long time ago.  I can remember sitting in meetings listening to the shares and hearing another voice telling me, "you know this stuff and now you have to make it work".  "It works when you work it" was the slogan I bought into and made active in my life.  My culture is very metaphoric and I listen in pictures as in the Avatars.  When I was younger my parents and teachers use to ask me in frustration when they thought I would never get what they were saying, "What do we have to do, draw you pictures"??  Actually the answer was yes for me...I listen with my eyes and HP most often talks to me thru that method.

Breaking down the picture of alcoholism and drug addiction into smaller pictures so that I could see it most closely was a gift for me and while at times doing it that way caused concern for some who also were involved in my recovery and learning I have no doubt that it is the way I should be taught.  I am using this practice to aid me in making decisions presently and have faith that it will continue to guide me.

I will see if I have pictures of the Red Jade that also grows besides this one yet not in bloom.  The Red Jade is startlingly beautiful and prays ones attention when looking at it.    ((((hugs)))) smile

(((((((((((((((((((((((Jerry))))))))))))))))))))) You are such a blessing...........would love to see the Red Jade, too.....I know when i sit in my back yard, in warmer weather, i love to watch whats around me in the way of wild life and one evening I let the dogs out to restroom and there was this big fat possum, just sitting on the fence w/out a care in the world....I watched it as it watched the dogs...They didn't see it, it was on neighbors wood fence in corner...I was fascinated by this docile creature looking at us and he/she was about as calm looking as it gets....it finally ambled off the fence and went somewhere, LOL....I got a kick out of watching it.....that experience showed me that I CAN clear this racing mind of mine
