he ODAT Reading for today, January 8 speaks about A time when sobriety arrives in the home. The reading suggests that when this happens-- ll is not always followed by roses and sweet music but that we need to be aware and grateful for the small blessings that do arrive with sobriety
By applying Al-Anon to myself to my thoughts and my actions everyday.I keep myself safe from what others say and do. We need to pray to enjoy the good each day brings. Gratitude lists helps me in this effort
(((((((((((((((((((((((Betty))))))))))))))))))))))) thank you for your service.....sometimes I have to get out a backhoe to find something to say "thank you" for, of late, but tonight, I went in and snuggled with the two older dogs and I said "thank you" for them....dunno what I was thanking, the universe, I guess, but yea, in times like this, it behooves me to reeely look for the good and stop "arguing" with life and the BS of this past 2 years...(i posted a daily re: non resistence) boooy did I need to see THAT!!! and your post ties right in to it......HUGS
Thank you Betty for your service and the daily! I too stick close to my program which helps me just stay in One Day @ a Time. We currently have 2 sons who are sober which has happened before - just not too long. Al-Anon gives me choices to be grateful for what is good or to worry about what might be coming. I prefer the former and stay there as often and as long as I can.
I am also a huge fan of gratitude lists. It not only lifts me if/when I am down - it helps change my attitude and outlook when I am consistent (like all things program). We've had a rough start to the new year, yet I can hold on to my serenity when I remember God has a master plan and I'm not in charge!
Happy Tuesday all - make it a great day...

Thanks Betty for your service. Surprisingly sobriety did arrive in my household and of course, it's been no easy ride. Lack of trust is a huge issue, personality traits , you name it, we got it! But my use of the slogans and all my tools were made for this. I am often able to let go and let God, live and let live, see the glass half full, and allow the Serenity Prayer guide me through my days, Lyne
Thank you Betty for your service and for some great ESH from the "Regulars!"
I am frequently reminded to stay in my lane, and attend to ME. I appreciate the fact that I now have a program with a pathway to to just that!
Peace today!
