The ODAT reading for October30 speaks about alanon being a" Spriitual fellowship" and then goes on to describes the word "fellowship" . The reading suggests that we are a spiritual community and held together by commom interests and points out that in a fellowship we give of ourselves and the more we give the more we receive.

Good morning, MIP! Betty, thank you for today's reading!
It is interesting to me, but makes perfect sense, that Alanon is a spiritual fellowship and also has no specified religious beliefs. A good combination for me.
I love that the more of ourselves we invest in the fellowship, the more benefits we receive. That certainly has been true in my life!

It is good that this is a spiritual program for me... as I have always thought of myself as a "spiritual" person, but as an adult found organized religion to be hypocritical. No arrows here please, just my own opinion.
I am enjoying the benefits of the fellowship, for sure!

Thank you Betty for the daily and your service! Thank you to you and others for the shares and ESH. I am grateful for the gift of desperation that brought me 'in' when I arrived. The fellowship in the group I landed at was warm, loving and encompassing! I am beyond words grateful for the unconditional love and acceptance provided to me when I was so very broken, crazy and full of despair.
There is no greater feeling for me than when I am able to be of service to another with no expectations in return. I do believe that we must give 'it' away to keep learning, growing, changing. Service work for me brings about profound changes in my outlook and attitude - big and small efforts. Letting go of 'me', 'me', 'me' has been freeing, and I learned that in recovery.
Happy Tuesday all - missing golf today and just catching up. Make it a great day!

Good Morning my MIP Family and Mahalo for being here when I awoke to be ready, willing and able to share your ESH with me and others. I loved the readings especially the Courage to Change which was powerfully spiritual, emotional and mental. I read it metaphorically and "got the message" very clearly as it contained my own experience with faith and trust as a brother in recovery. (((((hugs)))))
yes, to me this is a fellowship...too bad I have to come HERE and next door to get around more sane people....its a wild jungle out there at times...so many folks needing to be here but are not.....Just to be heard..respected..validated...accepted AS IS is a big change for me...in the past, that was not so...I was never accepted no matter how hard I tried.....and yes, give love/acceptance get love/acceptance...the old "what goes around does come around" is true....
