Love thy neighbor as thyself, but choose your neighbor.---Louise Beal
This daily talks about loving ourselves, THEN we start loving our neighbors...we learn to love honestly...we see our good and not so good, then we can reach out to others and see them honestly....it also says we can love /trust w/out losing our common sense...we CAN protect ourselves from harm......
Higher Power, help me see others clearly. Help me love them. But help me choose carefully who I trust. Action for the Day: Today, Ill list three people I trust the most, and Ill write down why.
********************************
MY TAKE.............the operative word is CHOOSE YOUR NEIGHBOR..........i don't love everyone...I certainly don't trust many..........before I choose to allow one in my life, i watch...observe....do they have a healthy self love??? do they respect boundaries....(must love animals and children) also BIG ONE: do their actions match their words?????

Rose,
Thank you for your service with this, as I check in each morning for the daily... it helps me tremendously.
I must say, living with Addiction has taught me to be distrustful. When I was young, and as a young adult, I believed the best of everyone. Naive? Yes, I believe so.
I am working my way from distrusting EVERYONE but my parents, to evaluating each place, person, thing on DO THEIR ACTIONS MATCH THEIR WORDS. That is why "Mean what you say, say what you mean, but don't say it mean" is a huge slogan for me.
I am in progress.
