(((Jitsuka))) - the best ESH I have when I am stuck in a 'funk' is to lean into recovery. I typically will find/attend more meetings, do more readings, reach out to program support folks, etc. Of course, I am a huge believer in the power of prayer and the Serenity Prayer is so spot on when the reality of some life events become revealed.

Sending you positive energy, thoughts and prayers - you are not alone!

((Jutska)) believe it or not" This too will pass" and in the mean time I used the serenity prayer, acceptance of life on life's terms and meetings to helped me move on with the day and my life. Gratitude lists helped tremendously

Sending you BIG HUGS, Jitsuka!!

I found for me, the acceptance of "Life on Life's Terms" was the hardest thing for me. Even when I knew the path I had to take (not the one I wanted, mind you) it was just too hard to accept that reality.
That is where checking in with program folk and my sponsor did me the most good.
I am still working it today b/c I need it to accept "What is." Acceptance is not easy... but I find it is essential to move forward.

Wishing you peace today!

Hi Jitsuka, sorry you are feeling in a tough spot. The slogan One Day at a Time was a big help to me. Sometimes getting out and walking helps me see things in a different perspective and come up with new ideas to help myself. Hang in there. In my experience, things got better.

When you have a bad day...go to a meeting.

When you have a good day...go to two!

I am old, Jitsuka, and at the far end of a recovery journey. I am so glad and grateful that I started out. I faced lots of obstacles- sometimes on my own, and sometimes not.

This strengthened me for the next part of the journey. I had periods of rest and release along the way. And times of deep insight. Some say the journey is never really complete... but there are staging posts and signs- that offer continuing hope... aww ...

Like David G I am also ooooold and then living this program just one day at a time I am not at its end at all.   I learned being an old guy that changing my attitude changes everything which is magic to me.  My recovery stays young and new and exciting.  I was remembering yesterday of an attitude changing event that was initiated by a seventeen Alateen years ago.  I was in a mess; worried, sad, angry, despondent and more and while walking with a teen to an Alateen service conference she noticed and asked me "What's wrong Jerry F...you look very sad". I told her I was and didn't know how to get out of it.  She put her hand on my arm and said, "Well don't you know Jerry F...Happiness is an inside job".   POP!!  The dark funk I was in left and I am still sending gratitude her way.  I hope HP gifts her with every desire she ever has cause she did that for me.  I changed my attitude about what was happening and how I was going thru it and it fled.

I used the steps, slogans, Serenity Prayer, slogans and the wisdoms of the room to keep that attitude working...Yay!!  ((((hugs))))wink

Jitsuka, Sorry you're having a rough day. Glad you came here to share. So many good program suggestions have been given. I tend to be like Freetime. When I'm feeling like this, I need to get outside and connect with my higher power by taking a walk and appreciating nature. Finding a serene place to read outdoors also helps me. Whatever is nuturing for you, I hope you'll give that to yourself today. (((hugs))) TT
