My lovely funny wife presented me with the annual birthday gift bag; some casual clothes to wear around the house and some treats and she knows how to treat me. This year it's a bag of Li Hing Mui (locals form of Holy Communion) and a Mango flavored version...hmmmmm love it!! Oh and alcohol free too!! and the card of course which reads on the face, "HAVE AN ADEQUATE BIRTHDAY" and in the inside..."This message brought to you by the National Foundation for Lowered Expectations". I laugh my butt off as what better way to start my day and 76th year of existence with humor. No she is not a recovering alcoholic/addict she is a long term member of the AFG. Thank you God for all of the gifts in my recovery and for your daily abiding in my life.
Thank you also for this my MIP family who have made themselves present as a daily part of my life. Mahalo (((((hugs)))))

Thank you for sharing, Jerry. I really like the humor! Recently I've begun to appreciate humor more, on the whole, which is wonderful, because practically nothing used to seem funny to me anymore during my dark years especially, and the ability to appreciate or even see humor is great. Thanks to Alanon :)))
Oh Jerry - I laughed out loud here with you and for the great humor your lovely wife has! AWESOME way to start the day....she may be my sister from another mister! I am still chuckling....ha.ha.ha.ha. Love the way you started your day and love you too! (((Hugs)))

In my experience, humor is a much needed ingredient in the recipe of health, happiness, and recovery. Overall "well-being" is not a simple, linear, state of mind. And humor, can play a very vital role. Thanks for the share Jerry -- and so glad you were able to laugh your butt off!!!
