Thank you everyone - the latest news I've heard is the medication seems to be helping a little. She is starting to breathe now with little support from a machine. Still a lot of swelling and bleeding in her brain. Thank you so much for your prayers.

Thank you so much everyone. She's back to not breathing on her own because they needed to heavily sedate her to help with the brain swelling. I'll keep you posted, but I just know your prayers are being received and are helping.
Sairee is still in ICU. This makes me so angry - someone hurt her very very badly. I don't know the details behind how it all happened - I'm just getting the info passed on to me from my sponsor who also sponsors this friend of mine.
She asks for prayers just to help stop the brain from swelling and to heal.
Your love is so appreciated. I let her know she's got prayers coming in from all around the world.

Mama, I'm doing good, thank you. I just hope my friend is getting rest herself. I'm just passing on her requests for prayer as I receive them - it's the most I can do myself at this time.
The latest news is that the doctors have put her into a coma. She's looking less swollen. They're hoping the brain has stopped swelling. The doctors and staff are working hard to keep her breathing, heart rate, blood pressure, potassium, and sodium levels all at optimum. They're hoping putting her in a coma will be what she needs in order to heal.
hey Aloha, yea, an induced coma is desperate measure, but i've heard stories that it can work.....do you know HOW this happened??? I am so sorry ...Must be hell for her poor mom....Thanks for updates....
I don't know how it happened, unfortunately. But it sounds like she got assaulted somehow. And that's what makes me so angry. I'll never understand how people can justify physical violence unless it's in complete self-defense. I hope they catch the perpetrator so he or she doesn't do the same to someone else.
Sending Prayers up for your Friend & Her Daughter, Coming from a Home of being a witness to abuse, I too Pray they Catch those responsible for this... Such a Scary place... And No one Should Ever have to Endure Abuse, tho it happens around us all the time... Lifting you all up

***************** ((((Aloha))))) omg..I was afraid of that...and I agree with you about only being violent when it is defending self or another who is helpless to fight back....so so sad and unnecessary......sending love and healing energy to this little lady and may she get well again and return to her life....You are a good friend to generate this "mass prayer" energy for her and her , has to be, sick with worry, mother...I really feel for the mom...she is her baby..I can't even imagine how mom must feel............
Thank you again everyone. Sairee underwent a couple of surgeries to put in a tracheostomy and a feeding line. They are long-term care items that the doctors agreed would be needed and useful for her recovery. They're keeping her in a coma for a few more days.

It was hard talking with my sponsor yesterday - she was so hurt and angry and I don't usually hear that kind of emotion from her. She's usually so positive and upbeat. I learned from her that apparently another Al-Anon member out in Hawaii had fallen victim to a murder-suicide just last week. I didn't know her personally, but it was painful to hear. My sponsor emphasized how deadly this disease of addiction and alcoholism can be. It is serious, serious stuff.
Thank you all again for your continued prayers for Sairee. I know her mom really appreciates the love.
