Gratitude list.

Today I am grateful for an able body and able mind. I am grateful for the coffee in my hand and the solid as a boulder coffee machine I insisted on bringing here lol. I am truly grateful for my sobriety. It's not always easy but I can say at the least I'm facing life honestly. Honesty might not count for much in society but it counts to me and my creator. I'm grateful for passing my first exam. The grade was awful but a pass is a pass. On the same subject, I'm also grateful for the experience of a bad grade because I know where I went wrong and how to improve it. There is so much to have gratitude for. On a final note, I am grateful I found this board many years ago and learned to make lists like this one. Wishing all a stellar weekend.

a4l - Congratulations on the pass!! And yes, when you get to this point in education, it's the "pass" that matters!!

Because of your post, I am giving myself "permission" to not stress about what score I will possibly get on my National Boards in two weeks... my goal is to pass!!! With this outlook, the next two weeks will be MUCH less stressful for me, b/c I am going to put down the crazy self-expectation of perfection!!! Thank you for sharing!!

(((a4l))) - huge congrats. on the passing grade! You are so correct - Pass is what matters. I also love that you've chosen to learn from the experience instead of dwell on that which is not 'perfect'...For me, the expectation of higher grades than average came from FOO. While I am intelligent enough to get high grades, life does happen and at the end of the day, as you say, a Pass is a Pass!!!!

Thanks for the gratitude list....I got a chuckle out of the mention of the coffee maker - I love mine too and I love my coffee! So - brought a smile to my face as I can so relate. What I find today is my gratitude lists today are truly simple and more often than not, show me my needs are simple and they are met. Glad you're a part of my journey!!

You all are an integral part of this journey. Every time I used to post "the worries" our Betty would remind me to make gratitude and assets lists. They really do work. PnP, I send you good vibes for the exam! Its a lot to get the head around after so many moons, but I was actually amazed how much repetition helps. And yes, not stressing about the end result is a reflection I'm taking into next semester!IAH, when I think of you I think Resilience with the deliberate capital. The machine weighs 15 kilos and it travelled in its own hardshell suitcase. I may not have all my creature comforts, but the morning ristretto compensates significantly. I also bought a smaller, lighter, back up machine. Its funny, actually. Literally, I've had to replace floorboards, there is no hot water, and sooooo much work to be done on this house with 3.5 years to go before qualifying and then starting at the bottom. But, I have (gifted)louboutin heels and my coffee machines!

Funny, but I was just telling my son about my gratitude list this AM and how I keep my journal by my bedside. I encouraged him to do the same.

I find that the minute I am struggling with discontent, it is because I am not focusing on being grateful. Whatever the circumstance I can usually find something to be grateful for and it always makes the big problems in life seem smaller. Thank you so much for sharing and so glad Rose is back on the boards, too! YAY!

hey andromeda  CUTE avatar!!!   oh yea, when i do my gr8ful list, it seems, by default, I let go the stupid problem or whatever unpleasant energy has visited me and by letting go, I give to universe to either cleanse, or solve or i just walk away and find solution myself or it goes away on its own...either way, the gr8ful list, and I do it OUT LOUD so as to really imprint on me and bad energy lifts...my space is lighter...my mind clearer and open for solution or whatever good energy is supposed to come.................Oh I saw what you said about me "glad Rose is back"   awwww you are the sweetest..........love ya, my friend...keep up the awesome work....i reeeeeely enjoy reading your wisdom   XO

I agree. I think of gratitude and resentment like 2 like-poles of magnets. They repel each other. I can't house resentments and gratitude at the same time.
My resentments are so toxic. ugh!
After years in recovery, I can recognize oops now that's a resentment marching between my ears. I can neutralize the yuck by remembering for what I have to be thankful.

l think the morning ristretto sounds divine.

Hey girl - as far as I'm concerned, a good coffee maker and a great pair of heels are absolutely golden!!! I do have to chuckle - I thought my coffee maker was dead about 6 months ago, so was using a back-up machine for a bit. Then, miracle of miracles - all on the same day....1. I googled my machine and my issue, and found a YouTube video how to repair it!!! 2. My exact machine was on sale for a "Lower Than Black Friday Price"!!

I ordered the sale machine and then set out to work on the dead one. I got it functioning and was so happy. Then the 2nd machine showed up and I decided to keep it for a Plan B instead of returning it. Coffee is as important in my morning routine as my daily readers are - they go together for me!!

Our meeting this morning was about resentments and getting past them. Like mentioned above, when I am feeling irritable, restless or discontent, the quickest fix/tool I've ever found to change my attitude is gratitude lists. I too create one each day - one person this morning talked about being on their knees for their morning prayer and the AC kicked on - they realized they were grateful for AC as well as carpet to kneel on for praying.

I do see now, for the most part, that I am very blessed and am very grateful. It's the little things for me that make my day! Great topic and great shares all - thank you...
