I went to a f2f meeting tonight and I am glad I did. It was so nice to hear other's stories and know that I am not alone. I have only been a few times before and like with this on-line group I know I need to keep going. My AH has made no efforts to go to any meetings and he is still behaving the same so I am keeping my distance and I am focusing on what I need to do forward for myself and my son. I know if I keep coming on here and attending meetings I can gain tools that will help me. I hope everyone is having a good evening.

Thank you so much for posting this. It is amazing that you have this awareness and insight, and even more amazing that you are a newcomer/beginner. When I was "in it" I didn't have the clarity or focus to really look at my wife and see reality. You have it. You did it. You saw what you needed to see, and you are able to keep the focus on you. Congratulations and keep it up. Keep doing it. Keep going back. Thank you again.

Keep coming back...
God, grant me the serenity...to accept the PEOPLE I cannot change...the courage to change the ONE I can...and the wisdom to know it's ME...
(((Kat))) - way to go! So glad to hear that you found the courage to attend a meeting and found what I also found - others who truly understand and a level of support I really needed! I went to many meetings when I first found Al-Anon simply because they helped me to remember that hope is always an option to oppose fear and dread. I really didn't understand most of what was shared and really wondered if I too could find peace and serenity yet I did see calm and peace in those who were working the program and truly wanted what they had!
I do now know that there is always hope and help in recovery. Keep coming back - it works when we work it and we're worth it!
