It is extremely hard coming back to reality

Just came back late last night/early this morn from my week at "My Happy Place" (Walt Disney World). I almost cried on the plane knowing it was time to face reality once again. I want to run away and live down there forever. Only 4.5 more months and I'll return - this time w/my son for a week before my husband joins us.

I'll be at the Cape convention next weekend. It will help me either continue in AlAnon or I'll know its time to face reality and know its not gonna change. If convention is just not my thing I'll use the pool, go for meals, bring a book, etc - maybe I'll return home early.

I found out on my 3rd day at WDW that husband took this wk off for vacation. He didnt inform me before I left so I had to still make the plans for son to get to school, etc.

Barbara, I believe continuing in AlAnon IS facing reality. That's one of its purposes; allowing us to understand, face, and accept what we cannot change. Many of your posts tell me, albeit subtly, that you are unsure whether your association with Al Anon is worth your time. I have some issues with Al Anon myself, but one thing I know for sure...it gives help, hope, encouragement, and solace to millions of hurting people. Perhaps you are one of those who find no use for it. Of course, that's for you to decide.

Glad you had a great vacation!! Take care, Diva

Whatever your journey may be, Barbara, we are grateful for your presence here with us. It sounds to me as if you are accepting the place you are in, and that is difficult for all of us, many times in our lives. It is also the true path.
Blessings and prayers for you,
mebjk
