Call Me the Breeze

Hi, friends. Busy busy, but I thought I'd pop by and say hello. You know, I pulled a word out of my god box just the other day. Insanity. You know how that one goes. We define insanity as continuing to do the same thing, expecting different results. Last month I got a call from that transition house I used to work at. I've been off work because of the health problems I was having, and buddy thought I might want a few extra shifts, to give me something to do. Like I don't have enough to do now. So, I said yes and I've been back to work (albeit part-time) for about six weeks. It's just weekends and holidays so my weekdays are still free for other stuff. But, you know the caseworker they have now is swamped with work and I used to be the caseworker there, so they started hinting around that maybe I could take on a caseload or two and of course I said yes, so now I have 4 that I do. They all like my cooking though, or maybe they're just being polite and respecting their elders.

Our big Midwinter Roundup is this weekend and although it's primarily an AA event, there's a lot of Alanon meetings there, so I think I'll take in a few while I'm there. Coming here is handy, but nothing beats a face to face meeting. Know what I mean. Jellybean.

Aloha Wolfie good to have you peek back in and to some extent I also accept the power and value of face to face while at the same time admitting that having a forum I can attend with and participate with leaves a lasting message for me to come back to and garnering additional input from those who showed up later on.   I have a record of the ESH and get to keep the recovering spirit in front of me.

Another definition of insanity I learned from both programs is, "Insanity is the continuous and dis-orderly process of thought" I relate to that one often myself.

Hope life starts going better for you in the health and employment departments.  Those are two areas of my mind, body, spirit and emotions which are so important.   Keep coming back.  ((((hugs)))) smile

Thanks Jerry. I like that definition too.

Hey Wolfie - great to see you....we are also having our big area conference this weekend....I had to do a quick check to see if we were close - we are not. You're in CA and I'm in KS but it sounds like a fellowship weekend all around. Ours ends up having about 4,000 all together and a good mix of AA & Al-Anon - like a reunion kind of.

Sounds like you're busy doing good things - nothing wrong with that.....I got a chuckle out of the 'respecting elders' and cooking! I choose to believe the former - you're a great cook and they are grateful for a home-cooked meal!

Stop by more often - always a pleasure! (((Hugs)))
