Thank you Betty - it is my goal to join in this year and go through the steps again!! Your service to MIP does not go unnoticed!!! (((Hugs)))
For any/all that are newer to recovery and/or MIP, this is a great time to join in and work the steps. Each one provides some questions to consider as you explore your journey. You must register again as it's a separate message board and you can use the same name you use here or a new one!
What a great way to 'do' 2018....

Step one in Al-Anon
"We admitted we were powerless over alcohol, that our lives had become unmanageable.
I can recall when i started to understand powerlessness. When I began to understand the hows (why should HigherPower* put me in charge?) and whys ( I control MY actions only and sometimes i don't do that all that well) , I started looking for all the imaginary control i spent my energy and time on. I could take back my energies and put them in a better place, one that felt good. Scary? YES but thrilling too.
What would happen if i turned all of HP's business over the HP* Also scary but the results went well. MY HP* lets me do it slowly. So long as i keep moving it goes better and better.
Powerlessness was more empowering in the long run. My thinking was based on reality. Life started to make sense.
As it happens this is my second go-round today with this step. It reminds me what i can't do. What i can do is accept the things i cannot change.
