My eldest son is in relapse and almost every aspect of his life is cracked and falling apart with the latest aspect being his children and his children-in-law. They are drinking and are polishing the alcoholic personalities and might be focusing some animosity our way. We spoke to and passed some information to their mother and the natural consequence and expectations may have come to pass. Okay back to practicing detachment, letting go and letting God, First Stepping and then two and three and Serenity Prayer chanting and more. Might have had a memory lapse. You think?? ((((Ughs))))

Thank you family we do support each other and pray for each other...I pass the confidence on to my family which has be negatively affected by the same poison that yours has. Prayers all around. ((((hugs))))

Hugs my brother. There is always hope, something I remind myself of too, as I watch most of my generation follow in the footsteps of the one before. What can we do, except hand it over and put God on notice? (((JerryF)))
(((Jerry))) - sending you tons of loving support and prayers. For my generation, I am the only one in recovery and I have one cousin currently in treatment who lost custody of her son this week to the birth father.
For the generation of my parents, nobody was in recovery and we had one death directly caused by the disease.
For the generation following, four have been exposed to recovery, two are active in recovery.
It hurts my heart at the deepest level that the disease continues. I tend to forget many program tools when it's so very close to home and heart. Yet, when I write this here, I see in black and white that there is progress. It's slow, but it's progress. It makes me a bit crazy at times to accept that even with those I love the most, I can only be the example, carry the message and be of service. I seriously wish the program would allow us to drag our offspring into the rooms, kicking, screaming and insane.
Yet, I'm reminded that even with family, we are all equals and if one wants a different life, there is hope and help in recovery. *sigh* - I hear you my brother and send you healing thoughts. I hope you find comfort in being able to turn them and the disease over and letting go of the results. (((Hugs)))

HP has them all I am sure as HP also holds me up and near and still curious of the "them all" worry because 5 great grand children as directly in the path of this disease that I was not able to recognize and fight on my own terms. That statement "on my own terms" reveals that I still am holding power in reserve and it won't work.
Gonna be duplicating the 3rd step prayer over and over today and then tonight and tomorrow OH might was well do it forever right? I will never get that guarantee I was looking for as a newbie. I've had enough...UNCLE!! ...((((hugs))))

You have helped me greatly on my own journey Jerry F, more than once and each time crucial. Me, I believe our hp sees our hearts and service to others, we each must be ready for teaching then by grace do the teachers appear. For sure, the hand of recovery will be outstretched when those who are ready to reach back do. It may not be through my hand or yours directly, but we do a 12th step through our fellowship, and it all comes around in the creators time. Sending you warmth brother.
