Prayers Please

My daughter has been battling consistent anxiety of sorts for a LONG time and we are in the throws of figuring out a few things.

Yesterday was the scariest day as a parent to date and if I don't have a scarier moment I'm seriously ok with that for like .. ever.

My girl had a panic attack which lead to literally a spontaneous Tourette's like symptoms.  I am overwhelmed at the moment at least not with fear just with trying to do the next right thing.  Today she still has speech and tick issues.  Of course she's going to college in 3 weeks and there will need to be a plan of action in place for her to have the support she needs.

It is panic attack related and I thought about it a lot last night and realized that her dad had a similar thing and it is def something genetic.  His was deemed the floppy chicken .. hers is ticks and speech.  We have appointments in place however no clear answers and the ticks are still going with the repetitive speech.  I'm hoping to have more information and as the days pass they will offer more support in terms of what needs to happen.  Thank God not as bad as they were.

It also seems to be very hormonally related .. these incidents get more and more related to hormones going up and down so that's another avenue we will be going down.

She has already struggled and persevered through so much as it is this seems unfair.  I did have a good laugh though .. girl is so my kid personality wise with humor and possibly deflection .. I am just so glad she finds ways to release her stress with her funny self.  The paramedics asked her if Mickey Mouse was a dog or a cat and she was highly irritated and let them know Mickey Mouse is a mouse.  They laughed because apparently most people they get can't figure it out until they get to the hospital and I told her that should prove to her that her thinker isn't busted.  We are still having it checked out.

Anyway, thanks and I appreciate it.

I have a friend that thought she was dealing with panic attacks and was recently diagnosed with epilepsy. She has had symptoms her entire life that were attributed to panic/anxiety. Just a thought as above, may give you another route to look into. I know that has to be scary!

(((Serenity))) - sending you tons of prayers and positive support. I have a niece (she's 30 now) that has a very similar story to your daughter's. Same time frame too. After tons of tests, specialists, etc. they did diagnose her with Tourette's - very, very mild form. That was the biggest contributor to her anxiety for all the time leading up to her 'telling event' as she felt different, awkward, etc. and had tried to fit in for so very long.

She's on some meds. and has been fine every since. She leads a normal healthy life, dating, working, bar scene, etc. I share just so you know to always hold onto hope - no matter what you see and/or what's being discussed. The process for this was not one/done - it took some time. If you want any more details, send me a PM and I'll chase down as much as I can from my niece.

She actually switched up degrees in College, and now works at a center for special needs teens. These are students that can not be mainstreamed for education. She loves her job, her career, etc. Her life unfolded into a calling of sorts and all is well. (((Hugs)))

Many prayers and huge hugs to you both. Your girl sounds like an incredible human being from what I've read of your shares. Stay in the moment, moment at a time. (((Serenity)))

I have GAD/PTSD and I have had like almost "pre-seizure" feelngs when REEELY having bad anxiety, but I am just severe anxiety with ptsd which I manage real well with Klonopin and eating right, exercise, mindfulness helps a LOT and of course MIP and other support......it is scary...its awful...I thought I was literally coming apart, separating from myself.....Bless her heart, I hope she can get a good diagnosis and treatment quickly....I saw some other posts here and looks like there is LOADS of hope...nowadays, they can treat nerve issues much better then the old days....When I had my breakdown, I thought there was no hope, I was never going to be stable and be able to function, but that is wrong..I am doing very well now thanks to my antianxiety meds...and the other stuff I do....so honest!!! there is HOPE....LOTS of it

I am not sure if there is a worse feeling... that feeling of helplessness you can have when your child is seriously hurting. ((((Serenity)))). I will keep your daughter in my prayers that this will be dealt with in the best way possible.
Light & Love,

Thank you all.. it has been difficult and yet I'm incredibly grateful this whole situation child be so much worse. I turned into the creepy parent lol .. I sneak into her room to watch her sleep. In that moment there are no struggles just peace. She's wanting to go out auth a boy she just started seeing and I'm afraid he's going to reject her. This us crazy thought number 1 lol. I have made excuses as to why it's not a good idea for her to be out until we have more information. That's a true story in terms of if she has an episode it would not be good. He's coming over tomorrow to watch a movie with her and that was my compromise. I just want to shield her from the world. In these moments and this will sound crazy because it's illogical .. I hate her father. I haven't told him and probably won't .. my misplaced anger wants to scream at someone and he's the safest target. That's crazy thought number 2. Lol .. ugh .. so thankfully het ticks are settling down and het speech is good. So lots to be incredibly grateful. Hugs.
