The victim routine is killing me.

It drives me absolutely nuts to deal with a 62 year old professional victim. Everything's so rooted in the past and its just selfish. Everyone has had problems been hurt. Why can't we lock people in a room and slogan them to health?? Grrr. Just a foo vent. I must remind myself, Christopher Robyn didn't try to change Eeyore, he just loved him through it.

a4l and all....I just about spit my water out on the first post.....that's just too darn funny - I needed the giggles!! I suspect we are more alike than not - I know there are moments where I am working hard to practice this program and my mind begins to focus on 'do not eye-roll, do not eye-roll...'

What a lovely idea - to lock people in a room and slogan them to death! I might have to share this at my F2F meeting tomorrow - I am sure it would bring about more chuckles...

Thanks for the share and the giggles!

Oh girl, I totally wish that! But, they would have to be receptive to those slogans and, most likely, if locked in a room against their will...they most likely will not, lol! But, I totally get you, lol!

I know that feeling and I was shocked at how most folks thinking gautomatically goes to victim mode. I spent many long years in victim mode and it's a kind of double edged sword. On the one hand when we believe our misery is because of the things other people have done to us there's not a lot we can do in our minds so we get to cop out. No responsibility on us. Others must change and only then will we be happy. On the other hand we can feel hopeless and helpless with no choice and then the world and the people in it are scary and life feels threatening. Not a good place to be. When I got awareness then freedom from this is found it very very unattractive to see in others and then I realised I was angry at myself for being this way for so long and not even knowing it. I'm still working on loving me unconditionally.x

I'm glad to have provided a giggle After venting, a surge of sad love came. Elcee that makes a lot of sense. Its not a nice space to be at all and part of its justified, the feelings are real. I am going to make extra effort not to judge but to love.

The victim I can deal with .. it's the martyring that is just a sticking point along with the woe is me and drama.

I like the Eyore analogy though because that's so true .. it didn't change Christopher R's perception of him he just loved him anyways .. sigh .. always a lesson right?

Good to see you around :)

I did go to my F2F meeting and our topic was Honesty...needless to say, I shared the intended post above about locking 'others' in a room and sloganing them to death and we all got a great chuckle...it fit well into our discussion as I am certain each of us at one point or another has wanted to drag others to recovery and/or lock them up and spoon feed it to them!!!

Thanks again for a great share - it was much needed today as we've had some loss in our group. (((Hugs))) to all!
