The material presented
here is not Al-Anon Conference Approved Literature. It is a method
to exchange
information, ideas, feelings, problems and solutions on a personal
level.
Today's reading is about feeling gratitude for where we are, right in this moment, and how Alanon helped us get here. When I think of myself before I began working a program, I think of someone who was scared, angry, anxious, angry and generally not happy in many ways. I felt the chaos of the disease as a presence that was running my life! Since coming to the program I feel peaceful more often than not, I am able to live my life without letting the actions and behavior of others determine how I feel.
I am grateful because I trust that my HP is guiding my life, and I work everyday on my own self without getting tangled up in the business of others. I am grateful that there are many people who understand what it means to be affected by alcoholism. I am grateful that I have a strong and positive connection with my sponsor. I am grateful for the gentlemess of this program.
Have a happy Tuesday! What are you grateful for today?
Today, I am grateful for my program, because it helped me stay positive while spending 4 days with my parents, dealing with a sick puppy, and refusing to get sucked into the latest and greatest family drama. Boundaries are healthy, and I grateful to AlAnon, because now I have reasonable boundaries and have practiced how to enforce them without negativity.
Thanks for your service! I hope you have a wonderful Tuesday.

Thank you Mary for your service, the daily and your ESH! You too Skorpi! I am grateful for my journey and the peace I feel now when I remember I am powerless over other people, places and things. I too was a mess when I arrived and what a great gift to know I no longer have to be that person or 'go there'.....
Happy Tuesday to one and all! Make it a great day!

I am grateful for many things but love this today "I am able to live my life without letting the actions and behavior of others determine how I feel." Very well put!
Good afternoon and thank you Mary for hope for today. I am thankful for another day to enjoy life and for my new little fur baby to accompany me on my daily walks. I am thankful to be much more present in each day with recovery in Al-anon. Today it is much easier to stand back and let my loved ones find their own assets and be grateful for them or not, the choice is theirs. Not all days are full of sunshine because that's life but each day can have a ray of hope if I seek it. Keep Coming Back!
My qualifier can not have a conversation with "washing my face" with suggestions I have stated about keeping the floor clean. He gets ice for his drinks and water is on the floor.
There are two adults in the house and i clean the floors, now every time he blows up he washes my face with the same old thing the floors! Going out to my Al-non meeting in about 20 minutes.
Thanks, for Al-non
Welcome to MIP ((wifehenry)), thank you for sharing. It's fabulous to hear you're going to meetings and keep coming back here too. I'm sending positive energy your way.
