DEAREST JOHN

My dear alanon friend. Remember in chat when someone who came in who neede alanon wisdom and support, we "all" stopped and focused on alanon????

Have things changed? You made it clear it was our number one service, to always drop the playing when we were needed.

Play is VITAL to us, but our main purpose here is alanon. We can go to regular chat rooms if all we want to do is play. Or maybe better yet we could have another room, mip room for safe alanon fun.

John this is very important as you know. Please let us know. I have a new computer, not a mac. tell me how to be an op again. Maybe now I can figure it out.

so much alanon love, debilyn

Hello family and friends!

Debilyn is soooooooo right.. we need to keep the focus on the person who is sitting behind their computer needing support and help.  Our playing around and fun is good, and even healthy, but we can't allow it to interfer with our primary purpose, at the expense of those who are suffering from this diease and its effects within their homes or in their lives.

Please, when someone enters the room, take a few moments of down time from the playing and try to encourage the person entering to interact.  When I am full of pain, the last thing I want is to contaminate someone else's joy with my hurts, fears, etc... even when thats what I need to do in order to get the support I need.

If people didn't need support from us as Al-Anon's they would most likely not be coming to our room.  They are here, because Al-Anon is here.  Let's make sure it is on the table at all times.

John
