I'm reading a book Mind by Daniel Siegel at the moment, and came across something that spoke to me. In complex systems things self-organize, some kind of spontaneous, unplanned order arising from chaos simply because various parts and processes of the system interact.
I thought it relevant in terms of letting go, detaching - in a complex system like our whole life (not being terribly scientific here ;) ) things still happen even if we step back and take no part in some of them, life doesn't stop, the system just readjusts itself for our absence when needed. The self-organizing nature of the entire system makes sure of that.
Just thought I will share this with you :)
Great share and makes sense....I remember once upon a time, I thought if I left my job at my company, all things would fall apart. I truly thought I was irreplaceable.....well - I did it - got angry, vented, quit and guess what? They kept sailing along. I don't know if it was smooth or not - doesn't matter. It was my ego that made me think I was more than a cog in the wheel.
Valuable lesson that while I might be missed, I am not unique or more important than anyone else. My own mind can create some far-fetching tales about my own self-importance if/when I don't keep my ego in check. I too am reminded of the miracles in my spiritual life. Stepping back and allowing things to unfold is powerful - I find myself at times SMH and thinking - God truly does miraculous things in this world!!
