Happy Easter for all who celebrate. I know I am a day early but I figured now is the time....I am not a 'fan' of holidays just because they are difficult and often I am reminded of lost dreams, lost people, etc. For my entire life and longer, my whole family has gotten together - 3-5 generations depending upon who's still alive - for the 3 major holidays.
For the first time EVER, my family has imploded because of this disease and we are not gathering as expected. It's a long story and does not include my direct family but instead 2 very active in the disease from 2 other cousins and they insane, enabling world that happens without recovery. It's exploded and there's tension and possibly infighting.
Instead some of us are gathering for a BBQ tomorrow. I am good with that and grateful for a Plan B. So - thinking I had today free last night after softball, I got an invite to play in a softball tourney.....I am getting ready to hit the road to drive to another town for a tourney!!! It's crazy last minute, but I was able to go so I am doing so - fund raiser for a child with cancer.
The grand-babies are coming this evening for a sleep over and then tomorrow - meeting, sober softball for 4 games and then family BBQ. I am so grateful that Al-Anon gave me the courage to be more spontaneous and just go with the flow. I am so grateful that you all are a part of my journey and lastly I am so grateful for Plan B, C and the gift of choice my HP revealed to me in recovery.
Make it a great day everyone and in case I don't make it back - HAPPY EASTER!!!

I made it back......I am a super tired grandma and did not realize that the baby still wakes up at night some times - *sigh* - amazing the small details we forget as time passes!!! I got the two little guys to bed easily enough - so grateful. I had a long conversation with the three year old about elbows, knees, ankles, heels, checks, teeth and more and we shared a bunch of popcorn which was the best medicine I could think of for a bump on the nose that happened from a lego container (I also forgot how rowdy boys are)!!!
We did awesome at softball - until I left. We were undefeated and headed into the finals and I had to leave to drive back home for the babies. I guess the team fell apart and lost 2 games to take 2nd place - it happens.
I'm grateful for a lovely day - very, very windy and plans for more fun tomorrow. And - my team (Royals) just won their game to - a great day all around.
Happy Easter to one and all!

We had a bunch of rain overnight so ... softball today is cancelled. I am planning to chill until I go to the cookout.
Got 2 pies in the oven - nice to be 'ahead' for a change!! Happy Easter to one and all!

(((Cathy))) Enjoy your rest today! I am planning that for tomorrow. Having 2 little ones spend the night created a much different sleep experience than I am used to - sending you prayers
