I am feeling a little better today and realize I really need to get my recovery back on course and find a councelor and maybe try the f2f meetings again. Sorry if I came off as anything but grateful for the program yesterday, thanks for all your responses and don't forget that people just need to be acknowledged and that was what I was feeling, I noticed that a lot of people view things but don't acknowledge the person, you don't have to have the answer and Not looking for advise just need to know that people care.
I am so glad you are feeling better. Working the program really helps if you really work at it. There are times I feel like giving up. I posted last week that since working the program I have had to deal with some very painful issues and sometimes I think it would be easier to forget about the program and bury my feelings again. I know that won't make me well and my life and my circumstances won't improve.
Hi Holly, so glad to hear you're feeling better today. Your point is well taken, people do need to feel they've been heard. I sometimes just read the board as I suffer from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and I feel too ill to type or formulate a coherent thought. When I do reply it takes quite a long time for me and a substantial amount of effort. I've found it could be very damaging if I opened my mouth without thinking first and am amazed at how many times something I've said in all innocence and without malice or intent has caused another hurt or offence.
I suppose a part of me also feels that someone-else more 'qualified' may carry the message better than I. (Tut, tut, self-deprecating) Your post brought to my mind the Declaration of Unity... When anyone,anywhere reaches out for help, let the hand of Al-anon always be there and let it begin with me.
