Back at it

I've been out and about. Just came back to recharge the batteries. I had momentarily forgotten my login info so I used a new one, but memory still serves me. Lots of new faces. Great to see that some of the old ones are still here. To the new members, give it time, whatever IT is. Trust your higher power. I learned a bit about trusting God last month. On Christmas Eve, I suffered a small stroke, one of the things that happens when we get old.  Of course, I didn't want to go to the hospital on Christmas Eve. Who would cook the turkey? And how could I go on my favorite social media sites and spread christmas cheer to all those people who mostly ignore me anyway?

Well, my wife gave me two options. Either she could drive me to Emerg or call an ambulance because, as she pointed out, I was going one way or the other. I agreed to let her take me. When I arrived at the hospital, I was unable to talk and the feeling in my arm and leg had disappeared. My cheek was doing the all too familiar droop. I thought for sure I would be in the hospital forever.

By this time, I had talked to God and put everything in His hands. By the next day, Christmas Day, I was using a walker to get around. The next day - Boxing Day -  I told them to give the walker to someone who needed it because I didn't. On the third day I was back at home. I still don't feel like running any marathons, but I'm back in the saddle and doing god's work as best I can. The nurses call me the christmas miracle because I recovered so quickly. They thought for sure I would be there a lot longer than I was.

I guess God had other plans. I learned a long time ago to trust god in all situations. Whenever I do things Bernie's way, all I ever get are Bernie's results but when I do things His way, change happens. So, if you happen to be struggling with some situation, and you've tried everything you can think of, maybe the time has come to let go of the reins. Put the situation in god's hands and allow change to happen. Sorry, one thing that hasn't changed. I still take a long time to say something short. :)

Good Morning Bernie  Glad to hear that you are recovering so well and that trusting HP allowed you to regain your health an keep on keeping on. The C2C reading for  today speaks to that as well.

Prayer is indeed a powerful tool at all times.  Nice to see you.

Bernie good to see that expression again and to hear that you have joined the land of the strokeless.  Glad it came and left you for those of us who can use you.  I have also been "stroked" in the past which also revealed to me that when HP needs us even a stroke won't take us down.  Slumpy cheek and drooling and speaking in a foreign language...LOL...all alcoholics I worked with never saw a difference and we just kept sailing on.   Welcome back brother.   ((((hugs)))) smile

Welcome Back Bernie!  Great example and reminder of Letting Go & Letting God!  I to have seen his plan for me is much better than I could've manufactured.  smile  I'm constantly reminded to not question God.  I am powerless over soooo many things.
